Timber look tiles have been on the market now for many years. However not all are the same. Many look rather fake once laid. The key is the detail in the glaze to make it look authentic. It doesn't necessarily matter if a tile is made in Italy that it look better than a tile made in China. Different manufacturers have varying levels of technology available in there plants.
Since 1997 we have been importing our own range of Spanish timber look tiles. We tracked down a manufacturer that makes a high quality tile not just in its mechanical attributes but also in detail. For example the LaMumbla range in the picture above. It has amazing detail when viewed up close, both in the print and the subtle textured. However more importantly it has over 30 different prints, giving that look of real timber where not all the planks look the same. Now in lengths as long as 1800mm these amazing wood look tiles are on display at our Sydney tile showroom.
